Tiste is one of those drinks my Nicaraguan customers tell me tastes exactly like home. Served ice-cold in a jícara or a tall glass, it's the drink people grew up having on hot afternoons, at the market, and at family gatherings.
El Caracol has been making traditional Nicaraguan drink mixes since 1940, and their Tiste is made the classic way with toasted corn, cacao, cinnamon, and a touch of pimienta de chiapa. Just mix it with water and sugar to your taste and pour over plenty of ice.
