El Caracol Horchata de Jícaro is the Nicaraguan horchata my customers from Nicaragua know and love. It's different from the rice-only horchata most people know: it's made with ground jícaro seed, rice, cocoa and cinnamon, so it has a nutty, lightly chocolatey, spiced flavor.
It's the drink you'll find at fritangas and family tables all over Nicaragua, served ice cold on a hot day. Just mix with water or milk, sweeten to taste, and you've got a pitcher of fresco ready.

- Easy to prepare, cold or hot — Stir 3 heaping spoonfuls into a glass of water or cold or hot milk, add sugar to taste and blend. Add a few lemon peels if you like.
